8bitasy

I've been working on some good 'ol fashioned 8bittery today and yesterday for Bullet. Turning out awesome thanks to Qblock, also many thanks to James Cunningham for pretty much recreating Qblock in Unity, this makes asset making so much easier (once we've nutted out how it works).
Our near-into-the-future look for Bullet:

Breaking News...

Theme for the Bullet game revealed! 3D pixels will now be the art style to the levels, containing blocky shattering objects and many 8bit 'splosions. Nic and Tyson have just about finished fixing the game code and we will be on our way to making the game go from ugly duckling to princess duckface before our presentation next wednesday. for a taste of whats to come, check out http://kyucon.com/qblock/ to see what we have similar in mind.

Apart from that, i'll also be helping out Cameron and Kylie from the 'Islands' team, as they've asked for some more intricate level concepts.

And if you are wondering what this week's personal work will be, you've yet again come to the right place:
Week 8
-Character concept #3: 'Creature'
-Vehicle #4: 'Animal influence'
-Matte Painting #4: 'War'
-Challenge of the Week: 20 battlesuit variations (male or female)

Easing into Alchemy

Okay so thanks to Nic and Delia, i've been introduced to Alchemy, awesome program to help give me a kick start to some concept ideas when times are poo. So i've been using it for this week's C.o.W, still getting use to it, so a few of the works are a little less detailed. Today was a slow working day, unfortunately not alot seems to be getting done, speed paints aren't speedy, requested help hasn't been delivered yet....anyone know of remedies for such conditions (and don't say work harder, that is already in use).

Was going to post up this week's stuff on Sunday, but i'll post what i've done so far with Alchemy.

Easter Break Work

Here's the week's challenges for personal project work:

Week 6 :
Character design #2 concept rough (male).
Matte painting #2: Jungle theme.
Vehicle #2: 'turret'.
Exercise: 30 character rough concepts in a day.

...and what i've done throughout the easter break:

The horse was just inspiration for creating Henrik and Delia's game level. Will most likely be refining the male character as i'm not happy with the face...he wasn't meant to look like Daniel Craig...and yay for desert eagles.
