Bday drawing

For my friend Mariel, her birthday was last thursday.
I've been super busy with finishing up essays for the semester, so concepts for the project have slowed.
The team and I did have a meeting last tuesday (30-5-2011) that solidified more parts of the game design brief.
Showed them a new concept I did in my artbook, and the good news is they like the direction it was going, so once the essays are over with I'll be back onto them and posting again.

Have a good weekend internet.

End of week art dump

A big steaming pile of it from the past 2-3 days.
- Mech concepts for Industry Project game: nothing set into concrete, but it was fun to think of new a bizarre weapons that mechs could wield.
- Environment concept for Phoenix game: Just a brain dump of what i imagined an abandoned facility on another planet would look like. It's a terrible painting, but it clears the old think tank.
- Enemy 'B' refining for Phoenix game: Don't know what version im up to, there's been a lot, but i'm super happy that this one is sticking so far, it has it's own originality to it (which also makes me happy).

Phoenix environment concept (early days still)
Phoenix Enemy 'B' leg and arm variations

Oh and one for the personal folder. A little something i did when i was inundated with mechs and robots:

'Grade A Nerf'

For a Friend's Facebook status that went AWOL

This final post description:
" Two nerf guns, a target, some bubblegum, a watermelon, a bottle of vodka, a general's cap, a pair of handcuffs, a pair of Doc Martens, aviators, infra-red goggles, a panther, a lasso, and a velociraptor, a giant ball pit, and a cape!"

...In which my creative flower grew into this:

A colour version in progress, since there has been a bit of uni stress taken off my shoulders....for now.

Progress from the past 2 days of being bored (including about 14hrs of Red Dead Redemption for brain rest time >_>):

Family Portraits

I've been working on this idea since the start of the year, i was able to complete the first two paintings before semester one of uni kicked in, and the third i finished a week ago. So its actually my family represented in their own chinese zodiac animals, mum and dad being the year of the dog and the rat respectively, and Tyler and myself being the year of the ox and the snake. If you're unfamiliar with the chinese zodiac stuff click here.
Here's the progress of the recently finished painting and the final product put together:
Note: unfortunately my luck seemed to had run out and i wasn't able to get the same canvas sizes of the dog and rat at the time, so the third canvas has double the length. >_<

Next Project: Skate Deck.

Progress Report

Got the roofs done on my enviroment, but looks like ill be finishing this bastard child at uni, my computer won't put up with me anymore. A few more bits to refine in Bullet, mainly the levels. So basically just juggling those priorities this week before both subjects are due the next week.

Work In Progress: CGI Environment

So one of my other uni assignments is to create a environment using Autodesk Maya 2010. My scene is going to be a lantern festival set in an old asian village on a riverbank very similar to Xitang, Zhejiang Province, China.

I'm not a great at modelling, so this assignment will be a good challenge, and since its still apart my games design course, I'll show you my progress with it, along with the last few weeks work of Bullet before my team and I are content with it.

Starting off with the small stuff first, and after the rough scene has been made, I'll begin to refine.
